I have several of the little featured dollies that are from Russia (Glen was there once and brought some back); while there, he became a 'spiritual Dad' to his interpretor. We've had a longterm relationship with her, she's been to America several times but 3 years ago married an American missionary that was with an organization in Russia------Glen walked her down the aisle in Nevada, where they ended up moving from Russia, and she's expecting their first child.
My point: she said NONE of the Russian children play with these adorable stacking dolls-----they're ONLY for tourists! Broke my heart! Our granddaughters LOVED them and I'd imagined all the little girls playing with them over there-----NOPE, only tourists. The video clips of their making them is really interesting that I've seen online.
Thanks for sharing, AD! And complete with a SOM-esque reference to the Matryoshka dolls, too! Very impressive! Hugs to you.
